How old do you need to be to use a Rift, Quest, or Go headset?


Companies who create some of the well-known gadgets in today's world usually set a prescribed age upon the usage of those devices. However, for the Oculus VR headsets, how old should you really be in order to use one?

If you strictly follow the guidelines regarding age requirements, you may be surprised because there might be some that are below the age required, who are already using the Oculus VR headsets.

Whether if it's an Oculus Rift, Quest, or Go, there's a minimum age requirement assigned for all of those headsets.

With that in mind, here's what you should know on how old do you need to be to use an Oculus headset.

What age are Oculus headsets designed for?

If you look into the Oculus Safety Centre website, you probably should know the answer.

The moment you take the headset out of the box, the minimum age requirement designed for Oculus headsets are specified.

You should be at least 13 years old in order to use those.

In the grand scheme of things, it's an understandable limit.

Parental guidance for younger Oculus users

This is where parents come in; they can help show anyone under the age of 13 how the headset works, and essentially showcases them of what it's capable of.

However, we are realists at Stealth Optional; there may be times where the minimum age requirement is avoided, something we don't recommend at all. But with lockdown restricting social events and outside activities, parents are resorting to desperate measures to keep their families entertained.

With this in mind, Oculus recommend that the minimum age requirements are followed, and once they reach the age of 13, they can enjoy all the games of 'Beat Saber', 'Star Trek Bridge Crew' and much more.
