A security flaw in a sex toy could send you to horny jail forever

Good people of the internet, please be careful when you're buying anything that can be connected to the internet.

There are risks that you take when you buy anything that calls itself smart, and depending on what the device is, they can actually be rather severe. You're probably fine with a PS5 or Xbox Series X, but it's not always the case.

Now, if you've got a smart fridge, maybe someone can hack it and turn the temperature up. A smart camera can be hacked and looked through.

That's all bad, but if you're considering getting a smart male chastity device, uh, maybe don't?

What is a male chastity device?

Now, dear reader, you may not know what a male chastity device is, so we're going to break it down for you.

Designed as a playful way to give someone else a bit more control over your sexual prowess, a male chastity device is designed to lock up your penis until whoever has the key says otherwise.

Normally these will have a normal lock and key (don't lose the key, dear lord). However, the smart version of these will often have an app or a website or some kind of digital signal to control it.

You can probably see where this is going.

What's the problem with these ones?

Well as reported on by Tech Crunch, there's a security error with one such device called the Qiui Cellmate Chastity Cage.

It's a Bluetooth controlled cage, and one that means you can give full control of your gentleman junk to somebody else and do whatever it is you're gonna do from there. We're not judging.

However, this particular one has some security flaws that mean that people could, if they really want to, interfere with your and your lover's plan to keep your dick locked up and decide that actually, no, you can't be released.

Now, we're not telling you how to live, but maybe doing this permanently is a bad idea. Sometimes you're better off sticking with a more analogue approach to things, and this feels like one of those times.
