Playing The Finals with your friends makes it more enjoyable. However, many players encounter an issue where the "Add Friends" button is greyed out, leaving them unable to add their buddies.
In this guide, we'll walk you through the process of adding friends on The Finals, covering PS5, PC, and Xbox platforms. Before that, make sure you are using the best performance settings for The Finals, as well as the best loadout.
How to add friends on The Finals
To add friends on The Finals, you'll first need to enable cross-platform functionality, after which you can easily add users using their Embark ID. In essence, an Embark ID is currently required to play the game with your friends.
Creating an Embark ID is a straightforward process. Begin by visiting the official Embark website and linking it to your existing account. Once that step is complete, follow these instructions to add friends:
- Go to "Settings" and turn on "Crossplay."
- Return to the homepage and click on the Social tab in the top menu.
- Click on the "Add Friends" button.
- Enter the player’s Embark ID to send them a friend request.
- Wait for the player to accept your friend request.
After your friend accepts your request, they will be visible in the Social tab. If they are currently online, you can invite them to your party by simply clicking the "+" button.
As the game is currently in open beta, it's important to be aware of a few potential issues. Firstly, as mentioned earlier, adding friends is only possible when crossplay is enabled. Additionally, note that the Steam overlay cannot be accessed while in-game, which may lead to some limitations.
In some cases, players may experience issues such as the player respawn timer becoming stuck, preventing them from using Coins for respawning, and occasional display name inaccuracies in the frontend user interface.
