With the rise of smart rings from the likes of Oura and Ultrahuman, Samsung is not only attempting to win the smartphone market with the Galaxy S24 series. The Samsung Galaxy Ring, alongside the huge amount of Galaxy AI features on the way, is a push to take over more of the tech market.

Samsung Galaxy Ring Release Date

The Samsung Galaxy Ring is releasing on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, and is available for pre-order from Wednesday, July 10.

Samsung teased the Galaxy Ring during its Samsung Unpacked event in January 2024, so it's only been a short weight for Samsung's take on the smart ring.

Samsung Galaxy Ring Price

The Samsung Galaxy Ring costs $400/£399.

Though it's an incredibly small device for Samsung, it's not met by a small price tag. The Galaxy Ring is surprisingly pricey, though it works out cheaper than the competition in the long run. Unlike the $299 Oura Ring Gen3, the Galaxy Ring doesn't require a subscription fee. If you're looking for a long-term smart ring, then the Galaxy Ring works out cheaper than the competition.

Notably, the inside of all three colors is black, so Titanium Silver and Titanium Gold are technically two-tone, though you generally won't notice this when you're wearing it.

Samsung Galaxy Ring Sizes

The Samsung Galaxy Ring comes in nine sizes, from five to thirteen. If you don't know your size, you can order the Galaxy Ring sizing kit.

To do this, order the Galaxy Ring but choose the 'I don't know my size option'. You will then receive the official sizing kit first, so you can test and confirm the correct size you want before placing your full order.

You can confirm your ring size on the 'My Order' page when you're ready, though make sure you've tested the sample rings for at least a couple of hours on the desired finger first.

What is the Samsung Galaxy Ring?

The Samsung Galaxy Ring is a health and wellness accessory, specifically for monitoring sleep.

Patrick Chomet, head of customer experience at Samsung, had this to say during an interview with TechRadar:

"It’s very exciting because, although Samsung Health works quite well – we’ve had a lot of good feedback on sleep tracking, and we are investing a lot [in its development] – what most people tell us is that they find it difficult to sleep with a watch. It’s much easier to sleep with a ring than a watch."

However, it's not just a health-tracker. The Galaxy Ring also has some handy interactions with Samsung smartphones, such as phone gestures. For example, you can use gestures to take a photo on your phone.

That's everything there is to know about the Samsung Galaxy Ring, from its release date to its price and specs. Taking the trend of fitness watches to the next level, the Galaxy Ring will certainly be a device to keep an eye on.
