With Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart PC port coming this July, fans of the game have already begun to speculate on its performance and best settings on the Steam Deck.
Originally released for the PlayStation 5 in 2021, Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart is the ninth instalment of the Ratchet and Clank series. Like other titles in the series, Rift Apart is a third-person shooter platform game.
So without further ado, let's take a look at what we can expect from playing Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart on the Steam Deck.
Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart Steam Deck performance
Since the PC port for Rift Apart doesn't launch until July, it's tough to get an exact read on how well the game will run on the Steam Deck. However, upon reviewing the system requirements, it appears that Steam Deck is capable of running the game.
With how the Steam Deck is built, you definitely won't be able to get past 60 FPS on Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart. A more realistic expectation would be running the game at around 30 FPS.
It's also worth noting that the port is being done by Nixxes Software, the same team that brought other formerly PlayStation-exclusive titles like Spider-Man and Miles Morales over to PC.
Best settings for Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart on Steam Deck
Again, we won't be able to tell what settings work best just yet since the PC port is coming in July.
However, the Steam listing for Rift Apart does state that the PC version of the game will have expanded graphical options. It even mentions that they've added these options to cater to everything from high-end gaming PCs to portable PC gaming devices.
That being said, Ratchet and Clank does seem to be in good hands in its transition to Steam. While you wait for Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart to come to PC, you might want to check out other PlayStation games for your Steam Deck like Horizon: Zero Dawn.
