The Arcane Tower is one of the more intriguing places you can explore in Larian’s Dungeons and Dragons game, but getting there isn’t easy. The tower is located in the Underdark and once you get to its entrance, you’ll find it being guarded by a couple of Arcane Turrets. We’ve come up with this guide on how to beat the Arcane Turrets in Baldur’s Gate 3 so that you can enter the tower in one piece.

Beating the Arcane Turrets can be quite challenging, but it is worth entering the Arcane Tower since you can find many interesting things like the Chest of the Mundane within its walls. The chest may not seem like much at first but it will be helpful to you and your companions once you figure out how it works.

So, let’s go ahead and find out how to beat the Arcane Turrets in Baldur’s Gate 3 so that you can begin exploring the Underdark’s Arcane Tower.

How to beat the Arcane Turrets in Baldur’s Gate 3

To beat the Arcane Turrets in Baldur’s Gate 3, you’ll need to deal at least 10 damage to them in a single attack. Any damage lower than 10 will be nullified due to the Sturdy effect.

Achieving this is easier said than done since the turrets have resistance towards a bunch of different damage types. Fire, piercing, and slashing damage done to the Arcane Turrets will be halved while poison and psychic damage will be completely nullified.

The turrets are weak to lightning damage though, so lightning-based damage will be doubled. Bludgeoning and radiant damage are also decent options since the Arcane Turrets do not have any resistance towards them.

Can you sneak past the Arcane Turrets?

Yes, sneaking past the Arcane Turrets is also a viable way of getting into the Arcane Tower. Pull this off and you can disable the turrets permanently after entering the tower.

To shut the Arcane Turrets down for good, you’ll need to activate the tower’s power generator with a sussur bloom. These plants have an effect that negates magic in the area around them.

So if you have any extra blooms when trying to enter the Arcane Tower, you can throw them at the turrets to disable them temporarily. This will make sneaking by them a lot easier.

And that’s it for how to beat the Arcane Turrets in Baldur’s Gate 3. While you’re in the Underdark, you might also want to check out the Adamantine Forge and how to get Noblestalk.
