Is Dune Awakening coming to PS5 consoles?

As the clock is ticking down the days until we’ll be able to play Dune Awakening, are you wondering which consoles will be able to handle this survival MMO game?

With Dune: Part Two, released in cinemas on March 1, 2024, and the recent teaser trailer for Dune Awakening finally here, fans of the long-running franchise will be waiting to know if this exciting MMO from the Conan: Exiles developer, Funcom, will be available to play on PS5.

Will Dune Awakening be available on PS5?

Yes, Dune Awakening will be coming to PS5, alongside PC and Xbox. Unfortunately, the game is only arriving on current-gen platforms, meaning PS4 and Xbox One players will need to upgrade their hardware to experience Arrakis in all of its glory.

Typically, MMOs are more popular on PC, with the likes of World of Warcraft, New World, and Lost Ark being exclusively available for PC gamers. However, plenty of MMOs have found success on consoles, including Elder Scrolls Online and Final Fantasy XIV, so there’s no doubt that Dune Awakening will be a hit on PS5 once it launches.

There’s no news as to whether the game will feature crossplay, despite Creative Director for Dune Awakening, Joel Bylos, wanting thousands of players per server. So, we hope we can play with our friends on various platforms, but we will need to wait for an official announcement first.
