Starfield is coming out soon and Todd Howard is encouraging players to mod the sh*t out of it. Through different mods in Starfield, players will have new and awesome ways to play Starfield.

From iconic vessels like the Prometheus ship to immersive recreations of beloved sci-fi worlds such as The Martian, fans are eagerly waiting to bring their favourite sci-fi media to life within the game's vast universe.

In this guide, we will explore the finest and most exciting modifications available for Starfield, Bethesda's highly anticipated sci-fi epic.

Best mods for Starfield

There are a lot of great mods for Bethesda' space exploration game, with our favorites being StarUI inventory - for a complete overhaul of the inventory system - and Starfield Upscaler for cleaner more attractive visuals.

Here is a list of all our favorites mods so far:

  • Instant Scan: all flora and fauna on a planet is indexed with a single scan, saves a lot of time.
  • Icon sorting tags: a great way to find out immediately which items are worth looting. Saves a lot of time.
  • StarUI inventory: much better look and feel of the overall inventory.
  • Cleanfield: removes all clutter and unnecessary info from the start of the game.
  • Quantum Reshade: tired of all the mute colors in the game? Then this mod will make everything more colorful and vibrant.
  • Easy Digipick: allows you to bypass all lockpicking sequences if you wish.
  • Starfield Upscaler: cleaner and more sharp overall visuals that you can also customize.

One of the best mods to be released for Starfield before the original launch is also PureDark's Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) integration for NVIDIA. Since Starfield DLSS is absent due to the sad AMD partnership, this mod aims to fill that void by implementing DLSS technology.

Starfield's modding possibilities

Starfield is one of the few modern games open for continuous modding. Bethesda, Starfield's developer, will follow the same modding flexibility that it implemented for past games like The Elder Scrolls and Fallout.

With full modding support, Starfield can unlock impressive gaming possibilities for all players. After all, the creativity of the modding community is almost boundless.

Here are some types of mods that we wish to see on Starfield:

  • Space combat overhaul
  • Deeper and more dynamic interplanetary trading
  • Texture overhaul
  • New characters
  • New ships and weaponry
  • New factions or groups
  • Additional political or economic systems

Once the game becomes available, keep an eye on reputable modding platforms such as Nexus Mods and communities to discover the best mods tailored to your preferences.
