Where is the silent library in Baldur’s Gate 3?
The silent library is a room that can be found inside the Gauntlet of Shar. You gain access to the Gauntlet of Shar by solving a puzzle on the third floor of the Mausoleum in the Shadow-Cursed Lands.
Once inside the Gauntlet of Shar, the silent library can be seen to the left of the Faith Leap Trial room. There will be a group of undead enemies waiting for you in the library, so make sure you are prepared to fight before proceeding.
After all of the enemies are dealt with, you can go ahead and try to solve the puzzle in the silent library. Fortunately, the puzzle itself is a lot simpler than gaining access to it.
How to silence the Night Song
To solve the silent library puzzle, you’ll need to answer a riddle that asks “What can silence the Nightsong?”. To do this, you’ll need to find a certain book within the library and place it on an altar.
Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to accomplish this.
- Unlock the gate on the far side of the room to access a new section of the library.
- Interact with the altar in the middle of this new area to find the riddle.
- Approach the bookshelf in the northeast corner of the room and interact with it to get a book titled Teachings of Loss: The Nightsinger.
- Interact with the altar once again and place the book on top of it.
That should solve the riddle and you will be rewarded with a Dark Justiciar Helmet and the Spear of Night. The Spear of Night won’t seem like anything special at first, but it will be crucial in the upcoming fight against the Nightsong.
