Where is the Chest of the Mundane?
The Chest of the Mundane can be found inside the Arcane Tower. This tower is situated in the southwest portion of the subterranean region known as the Underdark.
Here’s a more detailed guide on how to get to the chest’s exact location.
- Get past the Arcane Turrets outside of the Arcane Tower by taking them out or sneaking by.
- Use the tower’s main entrance.
- Go through the doors to the north to reach a balcony.
Once you’re on the balcony, perform an Arcane check to reveal the Chest of the Mundane. It’s best to do this with the party member that has the highest Arcane.
How to use the Chest of the Mundane
It may not be obvious at first, but the Chest of the Mundane is best utilized as storage for some of your excess items. When you get to the chest for the first time, you will find some items inside it that are, well, mundane. It will be full of things like bowls and spoons, so dismissing it right away is understandable.
However, these items will transform into more valuable things upon removing them from the chest. So, you can store some of your items in this chest, transforming them into common items, and have them revert back once retrieved.
The Chest of the Mundane is an excellent storage unit because the items inside will have their weight changed to 0.5 lbs. This makes it possible to carry more stuff without getting encumbered.
