With its imminent launch, it's important to check that you meet the Warzone 2 system requirements if you want to play the game. Players are steeling themselves for the much-anticipated release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2. And they will be anxious to discover whether they have the hardware to allow them to play these new releases.

While we still haven't got officially confirmed specifications for Warzone 2, we can make a few educated guesses, based on the system requirements for Warzone (which could soon be renamed Warzone Legacy).

Before we get stuck in, find out if Warzone 2 is going to be free to play. Then, when you're ready, we'll tell you what you need to know about Warzone 2 system requirements.

Warzone 2 System Requirements

Activision has yet to reveal the system requirements for the game. We expect they may say more at the Call of Duty Next event on September 15th.

So these are based on the current requirements for Warzone, and act as a good steer. We know that the system requirements certainly won't be any less than these.

Warzone 2 Minimum System Requirements

  • OS: Windows 10 64-bit (v.1709 or higher)
  • CPU: Intel Core i3-4340 or AMD FX-6300
  • RAM: 8GB RAM
  • HDD: 175GB HD space
  • Video: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670 / GeForce GTX 1650 or Radeon
  • HD 7950
  • DirectX: Requires DirectX 12 compatible system
  • Network: Broadband Internet connection
  • Sound Card: DirectX Compatible

This would be the absolute bare minimum for you to run Warzone 2, but we'd it certainly won't give you the best graphics.

These specifications are recommended to enable you to run Warzone at 60FPS:

  • OS: Windows 10 64-bit latest update
  • CPU: Intel Core i5-2500K or AMD Ryzen R5 1600X processor
  • RAM: 12GB RAM
  • HDD: 175GB HD space
  • Video: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 / GTX 1660 or Radeon R9 390 /
  • AMD RX 580
  • DirectX: Requires DirectX 12 compatible system
  • Network: Broadband Internet connection
  • Sound Card: DirectX Compatible

If you want to add Ray Tracing into the mix (and we'd certainly expect Warzone 2 to offer this:

  • OS: Windows 10 64-bit latest update
  • CPU: Intel Core i5-2500K or AMD Ryzen R5 1600X processor
  • RAM: 16GB RAM
  • HDD: 175GB HD space
  • Video: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060
  • DirectX: Requires DirectX 12 compatible system
  • Network: Broadband Internet connection
  • Sound Card: DirectX Compatible

These specifications will give you superior graphical performance without having to compromise on FPS. But what about competitive gaming?

Warzone 2 Competitive Specifications

  • CPU: Intel i7-8700K or AMD Ryzen 1800X
  • RAM: 16GB RAM
  • HDD: 175GB HD space
  • Video: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 / RTX 2070 SUPER or Radeon RX
  • Vega64 Graphics
  • DirectX: Requires DirectX 12 compatible system
  • Network: Broadband Internet connection
  • Sound Card: DirectX Compatible

Warzone 2 Ultra RTX Specifications

Finally, these are the recommendations if you want to play Warzone at a high FPS, in 4K resolution, with Ray Tracing turned on:

  • OS: Windows 10 64-bit latest update
  • CPU: Intel i7-9700K or AMD Ryzen 2700X
  • RAM: 16GB RAM
  • HDD: 175GB HD space
  • Video: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER
  • DirectX: Version 11.0 compatible video card or equivalent
  • Network: Broadband Internet connection
  • Sound Card: DirectX Compatible

It won't be long until Activision reveals all regarding Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2. At which point, we'll be able to tell you exactly what your requirements are.

But if you are looking at these specs and you already know your computer doesn't meet them, then you may need to consider upgrading your equipment before you try playing Warzone 2.
