Upcoming XCOM Marvel game leaked ahead of upcoming E3 reveal

E3 season is coming and that means E3 leaks will be crawling out of the woodwork mere days before their planned reveals. While E3 leaks have been remarkably sparse this year, one new leak has revealed an intriguing project. Amongst a list of leaked 2K titles, there's information an upcoming XCOM Marvel game.

X-COM Marvel game leaked online

Leaked on Reddit, a list of games from publisher 2K have made their way online. Four all-new titles are included in the list: NBA 2K22, a Borderlands spin-off Wonderlands, Codename Volt and an XCOM Marvel project.

Described as “XCOM with Marvel heroes", the title is a new turn-based game using beloved heroes. The leak doesn't say that the game will be using MCU versions of these characters. However, the leak states that “famous actors are voicing the characters". Internally, the project has been titled as Codename: CUDA, although this won't be the retail name. In the Marvel universe, Cuda is an amphibious villain; Cuda likely won't be the game's primary antagonist.

The leak was quickly verified by renowned games journalist Jason Schreier on Twitter.  When asked if it was legitimate, he said: “Yeah, I was wondering if people would notice this leak.”

Other Marvel games in development

Alongside the upcoming XCOM Marvel title, we do know of another game in development based on the property. Multiple leaks and teases have led to the assumption that Mortal Kombat developer NetherRealm is working on the series.

According to a report from April, the Marvel fighting game has been in preproduction for a while now. NetherRealm's Marvel game will release on next-gen consoles within the next few years. It's not known if the game will have Injustice levels of brutality. However, it certainly won't be as violent as Mortal Kombat.
