In order to change the name of your vehicle, you have to do this before buying the ship itself. When you are at the vendors you need to choose the right option and ask to modify the ship before buying.
Here are all the steps required to rename your ship:
- While you're at the vendor, choose the option "I'd like to view and modify my ships".
- Then go to the "Ship Builder".
- Now select "Flight Check".
- And finally "Rename ship".
Indeed, the option seems to be quite well hidden for some reason. But once you know the steps required to do it, then it's quite easy. Also we don't know of any restrictions on the name of the ship, so you can use your fantasy.
Also, it is interesting to note that this is merely a cosmetic option. The name of your ship doesn't have any consequences on the gameplay, neither long term or short term.
