If you have been looking forward to playing the action-adventure game Returnal on Steam Deck, we have news for you.
PlayStation announced that Housemarque's PS5 exclusive title Returnal is finally coming to PC via Steam on 15 February 2023. With us approaching its release, one question on many gamers' minds is whether the game will be compatible with Steam Deck.
In this article, we will discuss the possibility of Returnal being Steam Deck Verified. So without further ado, let's jump right into it.
Will Returnal come to Steam Deck?
So far, there has been no official confirmation on whether Returnal will be compatible with Steam Deck. But looking at the PC requirements, it seems Valve's portable console isn't powerful enough to run it.
As per the PC specifications revealed by PlayStation, Returnal requires a minimum of 16GB RAM and 8GB GPU memory. But the Steam Deck only has 16 GB of unified memory, between the CPU and the GPU. So, your Deck can't really handle this game.
Moreover, Returnal is a fast-paced game with lots going on on the screen most of the time, so even if players somehow manage to run the game on the Deck, they would seriously suffer from low FPS and performance issues.
Hopefully, Steam Deck 2 will be able to run this game.

Returnal is available for pre-purchase on Steam
The PC version of Returnal features DLSS/FSR, ultrawide support, ray-traced shadows and reflection, Dolby Atmos and more to enhance the immersion and realism of the game on PC. Overall, Returnal appears to be a very promising title for PC.
If you are already sold, then it's time to pre-order Returnal. The game is priced at $59.99 on Steam and if you pre-purchase, you will get early access to some in-game items that are otherwise obtainable via story progression.
And that covers everything about Returnal. We'll update you if we find any news on the development of Returnal on Steam Deck.
