RANDOM: AOC takes over Twitch with Among Us and other streamers

Twitch is kind of a big deal.

You probably already know that, but did you know that it's not just us common folk that know about it?

Every so often someone you wouldn't expect gets involved in Twitch.

In rare cases, that somebody causes such a massive stir that you'd be hard-pressed to miss it, and in this case, that somebody is Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

AOC takes over Twitch

You might know Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez as the US politician that seems to be one of the few who actually understands how the world works.

Well, she announced on Twitter that she wanted to do a stream to encourage people to vote. Not who to vote for, just that they should vote.

Naturally, this had a big old reaction from an awful lot of people, and she ended up playing Among Us with the likes of Pokimane, Hasan, and even a fellow politician Ilhan Omar.

Wow that's a lot of viewers

At this point in time, the stream has been watched over 4.5 million times and AOC has over 555 thousand followers on Twitch (she'll hit affiliate in no time at this rate).

The stream was just over three and a half hours long and featured a wealth of popular Twitch streamers. We reckon more people will have been convinced that they should go and vote by this act than nearly anything else in the history of democracy, so it's probably safe to assume the stream was a success.

If you've played Among Us, then this whole thing should seem incredibly familiar to you. Well, maybe not having 4.5 million views, but the shock and general feeling of betrayal.
