Oculus Quest 2 Connection Issues: How To Fix Oculus Quest 2 Not Connecting or Pairing To PC and Mobile App

If you are experiencing Oculus Quest 2 connection issues, it could be a problem with pairing to either your PC or the mobile app. Being unable to pair your Quest 2 will limit some of the games you can play on your Quest 2. Today, we'll run you through what options are available to you, to try and fix this particular issue, and make sure you have the maximum number of gameplay options available. Here's how to fix Oculus Quest 2 connection issues.

How To Fix Oculus Quest 2 not Connecting to PC

If you are having Oculus Quest 2 connection issues with a PC, there is plenty that can be done to try to resolve it. To start with, make sure that your PC meets the minimum specifications required. If your hardware doesn't meet or exceed these requirements, then it's always going to be a challenge to connect your PC to your Quest 2. But let's assume your PC ticks all the right boxes:

  • Your next step is to log out of the PC software and log back in. It's also a good idea to restart your Quest 2 headset.
  • If this simple fix hasn't worked, next try disconnecting your Oculus Link cable at both ends, and then reconnecting it.
  • Make sure your software is fully up to date. This applies to both your PC and your Quest 2.
  • If none of these fixes work, then consider uninstalling the Quest software from your computer, and reinstalling it. Then try pairing your Quest 2 from scratch.

If none of these fixes is effective, then it's time to contact Oculus directly, for additional help and support. But what happens if you are having issues with your Mobile App, rather than your PC?

How To Fix Oculus Quest 2 not Connecting to Mobile App

Oculus Quest 2 connection issues with a mobile app are not uncommon. If you are having issues during the initial setup, the recommended steps to take are as follows:

  • Open the Oculus app on a compatible mobile device. You'll need a device running iOS 10 or higher, or Android 5.0 or higher.
  • When you open the Oculus mobile app, follow the initial setup process. This includes:
    • Signing in to Oculus with Facebook
    • Setting up a VR profile
    • Adjusting preferences and privacy settings
    • Creating an Oculus Store PIN
  • Adding payment information
  • Once you've completed the steps listed above, select your headset in the app.
  • Your headset will either pair automatically, or ask for the pairing code that you saw while you were in VR.
  • After your headset has been paired, tap Controller or Headset Problem?, then select Connect Wi-Fi.
  • Follow the remaining steps in your Oculus app to resolve the issue.

If however, you've already done this, and now the Mobile App simply can't see your headset:

  • Make sure your headset is turned on, and is close to the mobile device you are trying to pair with.
  • Check the strength of your WiFi signal. Try to be close to your router, to ensure the strongest possible signal.
  • Double check that your Mobile App is fully up to date. If there are any pending updates, download these, and then try again.

As with PC connection issues, if you reach this point and are still struggling, it's time to contact Oculus support for additional assistance.
