Update: GeForce RTX 30 series stock won't stabilise until mid-2021

NVIDIA's CFO, Colette Kress, has explained that the company is experiencing supply issues that are impacting its ability to produce GeForce RTX 30 series cards, with this situation expected to continue well into 2021

Speaking at the Credit Suisse conference (transcribed by Seeking Alpha) Kress said, "We do have supply constraints and our supply constraints do expand past what we are seeing in terms of wafers and silicon, but yes, some constraints are in substrates and components."

" We continue to work during the quarter on our supply and we believe though that demand will probably exceed supply in Q4."

"We do expect it probably to take a couple of months for it to catch up to demand, but at this time, it is really difficult for us to quantify," Kress explained. "But before the end of the quarter, we will be able to provide some more information."

This means that for the vast majority of gamers unable to secure a new card, there's likely a long wait ahead, unless you're willing to splash out on one from a reseller.

Thanks to the new Ampere tech, we're likely to see a sizeable boost to performance, without a sizeable boost to the cost.

The RTX 3060 will be available from December 2 starting at just £369 - a staggering price considering that, as NVIDIA remarks, "the RTX 3060 Ti is faster than the previous generation GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER, [which was] priced at £689, and delivers blistering 1080p and 1440p gameplay."

As with every other GPU in the RTX 30 Series, we'd expect this to sell out almost instantly, so you'll need to be prepared for its release if you want to beat the bots and other PC gamers also trying to swoop in.

You can view the full specs of the RTX 3060 Ti on the NVIDIA website, but the summary of some of the key specs can be seen in the table below...

Looking like a cyberpunk boombox here, it's the 3080!

The next powerhouse up the leaderboard is the RTX 3080. It's second-best of the confirmed bunch and it lacks what the 3090 packs in terms of power, but it'll be a bit more affordable, and sometimes that's the defining factor when it comes to shiny new toys.
