2060 and 2060 Super CANCELLED: Leaks and rumours say older NVIDIA GeForce RTX cards are on the way out

It's a weird time to be considering an upgrade to your PC.

While there's definitely plenty of new parts to consider to make it worth your while, the reality is that a lot of these shiny new bits aren't actually in stock.

It's frustrating, to say the least, but at least you could always just grab a slightly older part instead for super cheap, right?

Well, no, actually. Sorry.

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 and RTX 2060 Super are done

According to an article by the excellent lot at PC Gamer, it looks as though the older models could be putting out to pasture. Sent to an old farm down south. Going for a long walk in the sky. Uh, becoming a PC part dodo?

Anyway, it means that they're apparently stopping production completely.

While this would normally not be that big of a deal thanks to the new cards, it does present a problem this time around as it's much harder to get your hands on one of the RTX 30 series.

This is due to a combination of not enough production to meet demand and the abhorrent bots and scalpers scouring the internet at all times to try and make money off of capitalism.

How long until there are more of the RTX 30 series in stock?

As we're a small handful of days away from Christmas and then New Years, it's highly likely that there will be no new stock this year.

That means we're probably looking at early February 2021 assuming things have to take time to pick up again once everyone has recovered from 2020.

It's not ideal, but we all just have to keep an eye out and hope that we can eventually buy a new GPU for ourselves.
