If you are wondering whether you can play Marvel's Midnight Suns on Steam Deck, we have good news.

Officially, Marvel's Midnight Suns is not supported on Steam Deck at launch. However, Garth DeAngelis, Senior Producer on Marvel’s Midnight Suns, said to Dexerto that the tactical role-playing game is coming post-launch.

In the meantime, you can still enjoy the game on your Steam Deck with some workarounds. We'll explain the process of installing Marvel's Midnight Suns on Steam Deck.

How to play Marvel's Midnight Suns on Steam Deck

While the Steam Deck cannot run Marvel's Midnight Suns straight out of the box, there are some workarounds to achieve this feat. You can play the game on Steam Deck with the help of Proton GE 7-41 or by installing Windows on your handheld PC.

Since the latter is quite a bit of work, we will use Proton GE 7-41. Here is how to play Marvel's Midnight Suns on Steam Deck:

  • Open Steam and select Marvel's Midnight Suns.
  • Go to Properties > Compatibility and check Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool.
  • From the drop box, select Proton GE 7-41.
  • Put the following launch command in the preferences for optimisation: DXVK_ASYNC=1 %command%
  • Launch the game and enjoy!

There you have it, Marvel's Midnight Suns on Steam Deck. It goes without saying that you will experience some performance issues while playing since the game isn't optimised for Steam Deck.

In combat, the game can actually run quite well. However, at The Abbey, the hub for the heroes when you aren't carrying out missions, you will experience stutter and lag. Luckily, you can tweak some graphics settings in the options to help with this.
