Is the new Forza Motorsport game on Xbox One or Xbox Series X?

The dawn of a new console generation means the dawn of countless new racing games, all ready to show off just how good graphics are now.

While that might not be for everyone, racing games are a core part of any new console generation, and seeing them shown off in all their glory is a highlight for many people.

That's still the case even now, and the new Forza Motorsport game is sure to get a lot of attention.

However, will you have to buy an Xbox Series X to play it?

Is Forza Motorsport on Xbox One or Xbox Series X?

Unfortunately for Xbox One owners who don't want to upgrade soon but also want to play the next Forza game, the answer is that it'll only be coming to Xbox Series X and PC.

The good news is that the game is early in the development cycle, which likely means it's a fair ways out yet.

That means you should have plenty of time to try and save up for an Xbox Series X instead of trying to get one at launch… whenever that is.

Why is this the case?

While other games may well make use of the extra power of the Xbox to eliminate loading times or to increase the potential interactions within the world, racing games excel at one thing above all others, and that's graphics.

According to the blog post on the site, "ray tracing is coming to ForzaTech, you will see a dynamic world in 4K, 60fps, that is connected and dynamic – from surfaces of cars reflecting off each other, to brilliant red paint bouncing off intensely detailed track surfaces, and the interplay of light and shadow throughout the world."

You can, therefore, expect this Forza to be so stunningly beautiful that you'll be unable to play it, and will instead just stare at it slack-jawed.
