With the rise in popularity of Splitgate, questions are being asked about whether or not there's Splitgate cross platform support. The game is now available on PC, Xbox One and Series X|S, and PS4 and PS5, so wouldn't it be nice to enable all those players on all those different platforms to have the ability to enjoy cross-play?
We'll answer that question here today. And as a bonus for the uninitiated, we'll explain what cross-play actually is, and what some of the benefits are to you as a player. Ready? Let's begin.
Does Splitgate have cross-play between Xbox and PS4/PS5?
As we mentioned earlier, Splitgate is now available on a wide variety of platforms. And we are happy to confirm that cross-play is available on Splitgate. So whether you are on a PlayStation or an Xbox, you and your friends should still be capable of joining up to play alongside one another.
This will no doubt be good news for many players. Given the challenges the developers have had in keeping up with player volumes on their servers, it's nice to know that they are trying to keep the gaming experience as positive as possible. And there are other advantages to cross-play, which we'll look at next.

What is Splitgate cross platform cross-play?
As the name suggests, cross-play allows players on different consoles to still play against each other. So a PS5 player can join up with someone using an Xbox for example, and play without issues. As well as creating a wider community of players, it has the added benefit of potentially reducing waiting times when looking for a match. You can be matched with players from several platforms, instead of just one. Waiting times were over an hour at one point, so helping to reduce this is something of a no-brainer.
Crossplay is enabled by default on the game. All you need to do, is find your Splitgate ID number, send it to a friend, and they can add you to their friends list, regardless of platform. You can disable this feature in your settings, should you wish. Be aware that if you do, it may increase your waiting times while the game tries to find you a match.
