Looking for ways to fix the Steam Cloud error? We have got you covered.

Although Steam is a great platform for gaming, it’s not without its own set of issues. Steam overlay not working, error code 105 and the Steam disk write error are some of the common problems faced by people who are using the Steam service.

Steam Cloud error is the latest issue that has been reported by many PC users. It is somewhat similar to the Steam Cloud conflict issue faced by Elden Ring players. In this post, we will share some troubleshooting tips to fix the Steam Cloud error. Let's get into it!

How To Fix Steam Cloud Error

If you have been hit by the annoying Steam Cloud error, don't panic. There are several potential fixes to solve this problem. The error occurs when Steam is unable to sync your game files with the Steam Cloud.

Here are some troubleshooting tips you can try to fix the Steam Cloud error.

Enable Cloud Synchronization for all games

Perhaps you have cloud synchronization disabled on your Steam client and that might be the reason you are experiencing the error. Simply enabling cloud synchronization for all of your games may fix the problem. To do that:

  • From the Steam client Settings window, navigate to the Cloud tab.
  • Toggle on the switch next to Enable Steam Cloud Sync for applications that support it.
  • Restart your Steam client.

The Steam Cloud can be toggled for individual games rather than as a global Steam setting for all games. If you are experiencing the said issue with a particular game, we recommend you enable Steam Cloud synchronization for that game alone.

Force Cloud Sync

If the problem persists, the next thing that you can do is to try manually resyncing the game. Sometimes Steam doesn't automatically sync Cloud Save data continuously. If that is the case, you may need to manually retry syncing by:

  • Launch Steam and select the game you are facing trouble with.
  • Click on Out of sync under the Cloud Status option. A pop-up prompt will appear.
  • Now, click on the Retry Sync button.
  • Wait for the process to complete and Cloud Status should now read Up to date.

This fix has worked for many and it will, hopefully, work for you as well. The syncing process may take a while, depending on your Internet speed and the amount of data that is needed to be synced.
