iOS has fewer options for remedying this error. It's always worth making sure that your software is fully up to date, so check for any outstanding downloads, and apply them if you need to.
If it allows, you can go into your settings menu, and see if you can clear the cache on the game. If this is unsuccessful, then the best option to try is downloading and running a VPN, and trying to download the maps from a different, non-local server. This seems to be an effective remedy for both Android and iOS.

Of course, if the above options haven't worked, it may be worth considering uninstalling and reinstalling the game. This will ensure you have the most up-to-date version of the game, and will replace any files that might have become corrupted.
