As we near the end of the current generation of consoles people are looking at their PS4s and Xbox Ones and wondering just how much longer they'll even own them for.

If you're one of those people, maybe you're beginning to wonder what weird stuff you can do with your consoles.

How else can you utilise these old friends and maybe have a bit more fun with them before shipping them off to the old cloud gaming service in the sky?

You'll be happy to know that this is actually an incredibly easy process.

What you need to do is connect your mouse and keyboard to your Xbox One via a USB port. That's pretty much it.

You can configure the devices by hitting the Xbox button on your controller, going to Profiles & system, Settings, and then Devices & connections. You can then fiddle with some of the settings there if you want to.

Should you connect a keyboard and mouse to your Xbox One?

You can if you want to, we're not your dad.

There's a good reason to do so though, while not every game support keyboard and mouser, more do so than you might realise.

In fact, you can play ARK: Survival Evolved, Bomber Crew, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Call of Duty: Warzone, DayZ, Fortnite, Metro Exodus, Minecraft, Sea of Thieves, Phantasy Star Online 2, Strange Brigade, The Sims 4, and a handful of other games using this input if you want to.

It's a fun way to experience a different control method, and it's a great idea if you like the console but hate the controller.
