This iPhone-exclusive app recently took the number one spot in the social category of the Apple Store, despite being limited to some regions.
Moreover, since its launch in late August, the app has amassed more than 500,000 downloads, which is pretty impressive for a new app.

What is Gas social media app?
In short, Gas is an app to compliment your high-school friends anonymously.
Do you remember an app called tbh which encouraged high-schoolers to compliment each other anonymously? Well, the Gas app is a reboot of the tbh app which was shut down in 2018.
The teen compliment app lets users anonymously answer multiple-choice questions about people in their school such as "the most beautiful person you have ever met" or "who do you secretly admire."
Like tbh, the polls are positive, urging teens to compliment each other - that is, to gas each other up. The intention of the app is to "create a place that makes us feel better about ourselves," according to the website.

How does it work?
When signing up, the app lets you choose your high school using your location data. After creating an account, you can add friends through your phone's contact lists, friends of friends, by your school, and by searching via username.
Once you are all set, you can answer the polls created by the app itself or users can create polls of their own to send to their friends. It is worth mentioning that the users can only vote for people who are their friends on the app.
When a user is chosen in a poll, Gas will send the user 'Flames.' The flame is pink when a girl picks you, blue when a boy picks you and purple when a non-binary person picks you.
By default, the app doesn't tell the name of the person who voted for you - only the gender and grade of the person are revealed. However, you can upgrade to God Mode (a subscription) to find out your admirers’ names
Answering polls about your friends will earn you coins and you can use the coins to put your name in your friends' or your crush's polls so they can vote on you more.

Is Gas app available for Android?
As of now, the Gas app is only available for iPhones. However, the developers have confirmed that the app will be released on Android, but they don't have a release date at this time.
One of the reasons the Gas app is only available for iOS devices is that the server capacity is pretty limited to support the massive amount of users. The app is only available in some regions for the same reason.
Well, the good news is that they are growing their server capacity to support more users. That means it will not be too long before the Gas app will be available in more regions and for Android.
