Cyberpunk 2077 refund: How to get your money back on PS4, Xbox One, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC or Google Stadia

With the state of Cyberpunk 2077 being, well, a bit mixed, it's natural that some people are reconsidering their purchases.

Well, it turns out that the developers are aware of all of the feedback, whether reasonable or not, and they're doing a scheme where they'll attempt to deliver on any refunds requests made.

If you're thinking of giving up on the game rather than waiting for updates then that's completely understandable.

So, here's what you need to know about the whole thing.

Why is CD Projekt Red offering refunds?

CD Projekt Red tweeted out about the policy this morning in order to try and keep fans updated.

The tweet started off with an apology for not showing the game on base last-gen consoles. It's worth keeping in mind that while it's nice to have an apology, this wasn't just marketing, but a thing that was consistent across the entire rollout of Cyberpunk 2077.

No review copies of the game were available on consoles at all, which means all of the reviews came from the PC version. On top of that, reviewers weren't allowed to use their own video footage if doing a video review.

It's not the standard way of doing things, and it certainly feeds into the company not showing anything regarding the consoles.

How can you get your refund?

As the tweet explains, physical copies will need to be refunded via the store you bought it at. That means you'll have to hope that the store will be willing to refund it, as it's them that will have to pay out for it.

The same is true of digital copies, with PSN or Xbox gamers having to do the refund via the digital stores.

They've also said that if you have any problems you'll be able to contact helpmerefund@cdprojektred.com for a refund up until December 21st, which happens to be four days before Christmas when a lot of people will get the game.
