Going into battle without any weapons might sound insane, probably because it is. But that's exactly what's being asked of players who are encountering the Battlefield 2042 Loadout Bug. So rather than allowing players to run heading into battle armed only with their wits, cunning, and possibly a spoon, we thought we'd offer some help.
Sure, some players may simply see this as a challenge, determined to win despite having nothing but their bare hands. But we say those players are probably fools. Don't be doomed to death like a member of the Light Brigade. Read this article instead.
With the recent launch of Season one - Zero Hour, there is every chance that we'll see the load out bug reappear, causing players to go into battle without any of their weaponry. Let's try to avoid that, shall we?
How To Fix The Missing Loadout Bug in Battlefield 2042
Of course, having no weapons as you go into battle is probably a bit worse than realising you've gone out and forgotten your umbrella, just as it begins to rain. At least it won't be raining bullets in that scenario. On the plus side though, if your loadout goes missing in Battlefield 2042, then at least there are ways that you can remedy the situation. There are two main methods to resolving this issue.
The first, and most effective way to preempt the problem, is to disable crossplay. Quite why this resolves the problem is unclear. But anecdotally, a lot of players have tried this and found that it seems to have stopped, or at least minimised, the frequency of this bug. But what happens if you find yourself mid-battle, when this arrives?
Well, in good news, you aren't totally doomed to a fate worse than death. And by a fate worse than death, we mean death. All you need to do is pause the game and manually build a new loadout. If you don't know how, then follow these steps:
- Pause the game
- Go to Menu > Collection
- Select Loadouts and build your new selection
It's worth noting that if you have any weapon customisations, then these won't be restored using this method. But hey, any gun is better than that spoon you were wielding before.

What Is The Loadout Bug?
The loadout bug is not an issue being caused by anything that players are doing. We are reliant on the developers sending out a patch to fix the problem. So make sure you keep a close eye on any updates and install them as soon as you get the opportunity. You can also follow the official Battlefield Twitter feed for more information on any planned updates to the game.
In the meantime, try switching off crossplay, and see if that helps. And if you are still hit by the loadout bug in the heat of battle, just remember to pause. That's if you can avoid being killed first, of course.
