We would recommend, at least for the first phase, to keep the aggression high. Use the Songbird cannons and missiles as much as possible, while avoiding the spider's attacks. After a while, you should be able to stagger it.

While distant, continue using both your Songbird cannon and missises as much as possible. If you finally get it to become staggered, then use that sword and deal some heavy melee damage. As for its desperation move, spinning around unleashing lasers, again keep your distance.
Best gear to beat the sea spider boss
Gear is definitely a big part of how to beat the boss without dying so many times. First thing first, get the VP-424 legs which can get you hovering easily and avoid those terrible missiles from the boss.
For weapons, we would recommend the 10-cell missile launcher and the Songbird cannon. Just keep your usual plasma sword on hand, as that will be necessary to use once the boss is staggered.
