Fortnite is a game that keeps on improving. It's done an awful lot to change how the industry approaches games that never die. Now it's coming back with a new season with Chapter 2 Season 6.

It also keeps updating to keep up with current technology and with a huge slew of new GPUs, as well as the PS5 and Xbox Series X and Series S.

So, you'll want to know how to turn ray tracing on if you want Fortnite to look as pretty as possible.

That's we're here to tell you how to activate ray tracing in Fortnite.

How to activate ray tracing in Fortnite

The good news is that it's not hard to do.

Head to your settings in the game, then go to advanced settings, and then you'll be able to see the ray tracing option there.

Simply turn it on and restart your system to fully activate it, and then you'll be able to witness Fortnite in a frankly disgusting amount of glory.

Of course, you'll need a computer that can actually handle it, otherwise you'll just be forcing your PC to suffer for no reason.

What is ray tracing?

Ray tracing is a method that allows games to render light in a more realistic fashion. It basically makes everything shinier and far more impressive.

As explained by Rob Leane in one of our articles "With ray-tracing, a different method is performed, resulting in shaders, colours and graphics being rendered in a completely different way, which renders the graphics dependant on the lighting, reflections, and even colours of whatever room the player is in. In turn, it's mimicking how these properties would look like in the real-world to an almost 1:1 scale."

That is, undoubtedly, very impressive stuff, and it's a rather exciting prospect in any game.
