Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is set to be a huge celebration of Marvel movies across the decades. Rumours have already revealed that classic characters like Professor X and Iron Man will appear in the movie. But what about Spider-Man?
After the character’s connection to Doctor Strange in No Way Home, many were hoping at least one version of the wall-crawler would come back for Doctor Strange 2. As it turns out, that might actually be the case.
Is Spider-Man in Doctor Strange 2?
Reported by The Direct, a recent LEGO leak has revealed a number of cameos in Multiverse of Madness. Posted online by Instagram LEGO Insider BrickFanatics, the Swedish toy company will be releasing a massive 2708-piece Sanctum Sanctorum set.
The LEGO set will allow customers to build am insanely detailed block-replica of Strange’s Sanctorum. Additionally, the set will be populated with a number of minifigs representing characters in the movie.
According to the leak, the minifigs include a number of characters already confirmed for the movie. These include three different versions of Doctor Strange, Wanda Maximoff and wizard-hater Baron Mordo.
However, the set also includes characters not announced for the movie, including a much-rumoured version of Iron Man. Furthermore, at least one version of Spider-Man will be included as a minifig. While not a confirmation, this makes it very likely that both characters will turn up in the movie.
Will it be Tobey Maguire?
The introduction of Spider-Man into Doctor Strange 2 is an intriguing one. With at least three Spidey actors available to choose from, there's a lot of possibilities as to which webhead will star in the film. However, it's pretty obvious which one they'll choose.
With original Spidey trilogy director Sam Raimi helming the Doctor Strange sequel, it seems obvious that the director would want Tobey Maguire to return. With all the popularity surrounding the character's return in No Way Home, Marvel might want that as well.
Then again, with Multiverse of Madness including would-be actors as superheroes with Tom Cruise as Iron Man, Spidey could follow the same route. Marvel could include an all-new Spidey actor, or even include a wild pick like Shinji Tôdô.
