Rosario Dawson reveals Disney’s reaction to Anakin Ahsoka leak

Disney sure hates spoilers. The massive company has acted with vigor in regards to any spoilers regarding Marvel or Star Wars media. With this in mind, it's surprising to discover that Disney has verbally reprimanded Ahsoka actress Rosario Dawson for accidentally leaking Hayden Christensen’s Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader upcoming appearance in the Disney+ Ahsoka series.

Rosario Dawson accidentally spoils Ahsoka

For those unaware, Dawson welcomed Hayden Christensen back to Star Wars on her Instagram earlier this year. This post was uploaded in response so a trade report — prequels much? — that revealed Christensen's version of Anakin Skywalker might make an appearance in the upcoming Ahsoka show. Disney quickly emailed the actress, telling her to take the post down, which she quickly did.

While Disney did confirm Christensen’s Vader for the Obi-Wan Kenobi show, they did not say the same for Dawson’s Ahsoka. It didn’t cost her the job as Dawson is still slated to appear as the title character, but the company did demand that the actress scrub the post from the Internet.

This seems to be a fairly minor incident as Dawson was able to joke the situation in an interview with Vanity Fair. Talking to the outlet, the actress recounted the situation, saying: "I looked in my email, and Star Wars was like, ‘You might want to take that down. I’m like, ‘Man, I can’t be trusted.’”

Considering how many times Tom Holland has spoiled the Marvel movies he’s been in, this is essentially nothing. Plus, it probably got the attention of numerous Star Wars nerds who crave to see Darth Vader in everything. After all, he is one of the most iconic movie villains of all time.

Disney’s poor attempts at keeping Hayden Christensen a secret

Disney is aware that Hayden Christensen returning to Star Wars as Anakin is a huge deal for fans, especially amid their poor attempts to keep it a secret. Aside from forcing the Ahsoka star to take down her Instagram post, they also pulled Hayden Christensen from a convention appearance when Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker was about to premiere. You're so subtle Disney, no one noticed that at all.

While he only provided his voice for The Rise of Skywalker, Disney confirmed that Christensen’s Vader would have a big role in Obi-Wan Kenobi later on. That’s why it’s odd to see them go through these hoops again since fans would love to know if Vader is appearing in Ahsoka.

Vader or no Vader, it looks like Star Wars fans will be getting Rosario Dawson’s Ahsoka show on Disney+ sometime in 2023. Disney did a major Star Wars reveal that didn’t actually tell us much but it’s good to know they have more projects set in a galaxy far far away. Hopefully, we get more post-sequel stories.
