Jessica Jones actress teases upcoming appearance with Luke Cage in She-Hulk

Marvel Studios' Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe has taken the gloves off when it comes to character cameos. The studio's cameos have become so intense that even cancelled Netflix characters are returning, starting with Daredevil in Spider-Man: No Way Home. It seems like that tradition will be continuing as Jessica Jones actress Krysten Ritter has teased her return alongside Luke Cage actor and former co-star Mike Colter.

There is a lot of history between these two, as Colter first appeared in Ritter’s Jessica Jones show on Netflix where the two had electric chemistry together. Despite good performances from both actors, many thought their time in the MCU came to an end when Netflix pulled the plug on its Marvel shows. However, the real might be returning within the upcoming She-Hulk series.

Whatcha hiding Krysten?

With the release of a quick image on Instagram, Jessica Jones actress Krysten Ritter set the Marvel fanbase alight. In a new post from the actress, both her and Luke Cage actor Mike Colter are seen palling around, leading many to assume that the two are returning to Marvel.

A quick glance will make most people think that Ritter and Colter just had a nice afternoon together. However, upon closer inspection, many eagle-eyed fans on Reddit noticed that Ritter covered a purple sticker on her shirt. This implies that Ritter is working on a project that the studio is secretive about. Furthermore, if she’s with Colter, it could mean a Jessica Jones/Luke Cage reunion on She-Hulk.

Prior to the photo, rumors circulated online that we could be seeing Ritter’s version of Jessica Jones in Disney+’s She-Hulk show. Some sources tried to play down those rumors, claiming Jones wouldn’t be appearing in the Disney+ show unless the producers were hiding something. When you consider how most of these MCU projects are made and this photo, it looks like the producers might be hiding something.

Netflix Marvel characters returning

The flood gates for Netflix Marvel characters returning started with last year’s Hawkeye Disney+ series. Vincent D’Onafrio’s Wilson Fisk appeared as the antagonist in its final episode. Not long after that, Spider-Man: No Way Home gave Netflix/Marvel fans an even bigger bone by having Matt Murdock as Peter Parker’s lawyer.

It’s not limited to Netflix/Marvel either. Anson Mount’s Black Bolt from the critically-panned Marvel’s Inhumans recently cameoed in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. He was also joined by variants of Hayley Atwell's Captain Carter and Patrick Stewart’s classic Professor Xavier.

With all those cameos accounted for, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage appearing again seems like a question of “when” rather than “if.” All signs point to them making some kind of cameo in July’s She-Hulk but we’re interested in seeing where they might appear after that.
