Han Solo and Leia Organa have often been touted as the true romance of the Star Wars franchise. While some (weirdos) believe more in the love story of Anakin and Padme, Han and Leia is by far the more reasonable tale.
However, in the current canon, the rebellious lovebirds’ romance was been cut short. While the two got together in the original trilogy, the only other stories in current canon show the couple's breakup after the Fall of Ben Solo.
The wedding of Han and Leia
Disney and Lucasfilm is looking to change this in the coming months. After the sequel trilogy ended the relationship between Solo and Organa, new Star Wars stories will go back to look at the two’s relationship. The new storyline will start with the iconic couple getting married.
Announced the Star Wars website, a new novel will feature a new take on the wedding of Han Solo and Leia Organa. While this story already happened decades ago in books, that version of the story is no longer canon.
The new book, entitled The Princess and The Scoundrel, will be written by Beth Revis. Previous works by the author include Star Wars: Rebel Rising, a story starring Rogue One’s Jyn Erso. Revis has also worked on a massive library of other sci-fi and fantasy novels.

A sequel to Return of the Jedi
The Princess and The Scoundrel takes place immediately after the ending of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. Revis confirmed that the new story will start on the Endor where the two will finally tie the knot after the destruction of the second Death Star.
Afterwards, the story will take Han and Leia on a marvelous honeymoon on a Halycon starcruiser. However, not everything will go so smoothly, and the two will once again be forced to battle The Empire as remnant forces refuse to give up.
In an interview with the Star Wars website, Revis explained that the book was written after extensive studies of the original trilogy. The author took “pages and pages of notes on their dialogue, their mannerisms, the subtle ways they interacted” to inform the two’s written relationship.
Revis claims that the book’s wedding ceremony is her favourite scene. The author said:
"I don’t want to spoil anything as the wedding is possibly my favorite scene of the whole book, but I will say that when Ewoks are involved, nothing ever goes to plan!"

When does Star Wars: The Princess and The Scoundrel release?
Unfortunately, the new Star Wars romance book hasn’t released in time for Valentines Day. However, the new novel isn't far away at all for those looking to read up on the couple’s relationship.
Star Wars: The Princess and the Scoundrel will be available worldwide on August 16, 2022. The book will be available both physically and digitally.
