Emilia Clarke's Qi'ra is returning for her own Disney Plus show

Disney's early handling of the Star Wars IP wasn't the most graceful. Outside of the sequel trilogy, spin-offs like Rogue One and Solo didn't bring the fanfare the company expected. However, the side stories created some interesting characters, such as Felicity Jones’ Jyn Erso and Emilia Clarke's Qi'ra.

However, these characters have been largely ignored since the release of their respective movies. While Qi'ra turned up in a comic storyline recently, neither have been reintroduced in live action prequels or sequels. But that looks set to change.

Emilia Clarke is getting a Q’ira Disney Plus show

In a report by THS, it was revealed that Clarke’s Solo character will be returning for Disney Plus. While details are sparse, the report claims that the storyline will take place after Solo. However, knowing Disney Plus, flashbacks could also be part of the story.

In the comics, the character was last seen stealing a carbonite-frozen Han Solo from Boba Fett. As the leader of crime syndicate Crimson Dawn, she used the lovable rogue to initiate a large-scale fight.

For the Disney Plus story, we could see the aftermath of this battle. However, it's also possible we could go far further into Qi'ra’s life. For example, if we go post-Jedi, we could see her reunite with Han Solo after defeating The Empire.

Multiple reports have already claimed that Harrison Ford would be willing to reprise the role of Han Solo using deepfake technology. Of course, Disney could just re-hire Solo actor Alden Ehrenreich, but that seems very unlikely.

Clarke's second Disney Plus show

Qi'ra actress Emilia Clarke already appears to have a strong working relationship with Disney. For example, the Game of Thrones star has already signed on for a long career in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The actress’ first appearance will be in the upcoming Disney Plus show Secret Invasion. Clarke will share the screen with Samuel L. Jackson and Ben Mendelsohn, two other Star Wars actors. The series will consist of just six episodes.
