Captain Carter, Professor X shown in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness tease

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has been described as the ultimate celebration of Marvel, consisting of myriad cameos. With evil Doctor Strange from What If? already confirmed to appear, many fans have wondered who else from the animated series will pop up.

As it turns out, a number of What If characters are set to appear. Revealed in a new trailer, Captain Carter, one of the main characters from What If, is confirmed to turn up. But while it will be fun to see Hayley Atwell put on the costume, will anyone else appear?

Captain Carter makes her live-action debut

In an official TV spot for Doctor Strange 2, Marvel released footage of Captain Carter taking on America Chavez. While the footage was cut short, fans were able to see a glimpse of the two trade blows. In just a couple of seconds, fans were able to quickly notice Carter's gorgeous British version of the iconic Captain America shield. We fully expect to see Carter throwing that awesome shield around like no one’s business.

It’s not yet known how prominent Carter’s role will be in the Multiverse of Madness. She could be a fun cameo for What If fans, or she could have a major role. Just like everything else with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, it's all been kept rather vague.

However, for fans who want to see more of Captain Carter there is additional material to enjoy. For example, the character has a five-issue comic series that is out now, and the character will return in What If Season 2. Fans certainly have plenty of Peggy material to enjoy.

Professor X, Monica Rambeau and more

Captain Carter isn't the only character to be revealed in the new Doctor Strange footage. The TV spot also revealed Monica Rambeau from WandaVision in a full superhero suit. Since the Disney Plus series, her powers seem to have grown exponentially. However, this could be a Multiverse variant instead of the main MCU version. Nevertheless, her relationship with villain Scarlet Witch should make this interesting.

Also shown in the footage was Patrick Stewart, officially returning as Professor Xavier as part of the famed Illuminati. The X-Men leader's signature floating chair was finally shown. In a forboding statement, Xavier says: "We will see what kind of Doctor Strange you are," showing his familiarity with the multiverse.

Xavier and Strange aside, The Illuminati consists of Mr. Fantastic, Namor, Black Bolt, and Iron Man in the comics, the latter of whom might be played by Tom Cruise.
