Xochitl Gomez reveals how powerful America Chavez is
One of the new heroes coming to the MCU is America Chavez. Played by Xochitl Gomez, Marvel Comics' Miss America is coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as part of the next wave of MCU heroes. Alongside Miss America, the MCU will also be introducing Ironheart, Ms Marvel and other Young Avengers.
In an interview with Entrainment Weekly, Gomez explained how important the role of Miss America is to her. The actress explained:
"I can't even explain how honored I am that I was able to receive such a role, and that it was even out there. That, not only a Latina, but just a girl, a young girl, a superhero, and it means so much."
The actress discussed the moment when she first donned the character’s superhero outfit. Amongst everything, the actress felt strong.
"I felt like this was perfect. That's what I felt. I felt perfect, and it just felt right. I find her powerful. Girl power, and I guess it's the same, but strong. I mean all those words, just strong."
Miss America's role in Doctor Strange 2
Obviously, not much is known about the plot of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. However, the basic plot summary explains that the character is attempting to escape from the Multiverse Destroyer Shuma Gorath.
Miss America will be a very important character for the upcoming Doctor Strange sequel. Furthermore, the character will be a very important aspect of the MCU as a whole. After all, she is important member of the Young Avengers.
