Now we know the Xbox Series X’s price and release date, all eyes turn to actually ordering the next-gen console.

Despite concerns over distribution amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Microsoft remains committed to a worldwide release on the same day, compared to the PS5’s staggered release later this year.

All of this doesn’t matter, however, unless you actually secure your Xbox Series X ahead of its launch, as if we go by the PS5’s pre-orders, the console will sell out pretty fast. Microsoft gave us plenty of notice about when pre-orders would go live, but the Series X looks to be selling out fast. Here’s all you need to know.

Microsoft’s next-gen console will launch in 37 countries on November 12, and 41 by the Holiday season. Here’s the price breakdown:

Where can people in the USA pre-order the Xbox Series X?

Pre-orders for the Xbox Series X opened in the United States at 8 AM PT/11 AM ET on September 22, with console costing $499.99.

Microsoft has confirmed that the following retailers will have an online stock of Xbox Series X’s available to order: Microsoft Store, Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop, Walmart, Target, Sam’s Club, Newegg, and other participating retailers.

Pre-orders from Amazon went incredibly quickly, as did orders from the Microsoft Store.

As for other retailers, Best Buy and Target also burned through their stock of Xbox Series X consoles pretty quickly, with Target asking customers to “Check back on release date.”

Where can Canadians pre-order the Xbox Series X?

Canadians could pre-order the Xbox Series X at the same time as those in the US, from 11 AM ET/8 AM PT on September 22. The console will cost $599.99.

The Xbox Series X is available to pre-order from the following places: Microsoft Store, Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, EB Games, The Source, and other participating retailers.

However, similar to orders in the US, pre-orders for the Xbox Series X sold out pretty quickly in Canada. The Source has urged customers to either check their local stores or sign up for stock notifications using this link.

Where can people in the UK pre-order the Xbox Series X?

Unlike with the PlayStation 5, those in the United Kingdom will receive the Xbox Series X on the same date as their friends across the pond. Pre-orders for the console opened at 8 AM BST on September 22, costing £449.99.

The Xbox Series X was available to order from the following retailers: Microsoft Store, GAME, Amazon, Dixons, Currys PC World, Argos, John Lewis, Smyths Toys, VERY, AO, Tesco, Simply Game, Shopto and other participating retailers.

Where can Australians order the Xbox Series X?

Australians were among the first group of players attempting to pre-order the Xbox Series X after pre-orders went live at 8 AM AEST on September 22 for $749.00.


The Xbox Series X was available from the following retailers: Microsoft Store, JB Hifi, EB Games, Telstra, Harvey Norman, and other participating retailers.

However, reports from Australian streamer Uber Timmeh suggest that pre-orders sold out in the country after just 20 minutes.

However, if you still want an Xbox Series X from EB Games in the future, the retailer opened a wave of PS5 pre-orders for 2021 (which has already sold out), meaning that following the closure of its current Series X orders, a 2021 wave of pre-orders could open soon.

Where can you pre-order the Xbox Series X in New Zealand?

The Series X was available to pre-order from 8 AM NZST on September 22 for $799.00.

It was available for those in New Zealand from the following places: Microsoft Store, JB HiFi, EB Games, Spark, and other participating retailers.
