Cyberpunk 2077 mods could give hackers access to your PC - here's how to stop them!

The ever so controversial Cyberpunk 2077 might just have another controversial aspect in its backpack - allowing hackers to access a player's PC.

Yes, it is possible. And it all comes down to the game's modding feature, which means that anyone can put in their own ideas into Cyberpunk.

A malicious game mod has already circulated online. As explained on the game's subreddit page, this untrustworthy 'game mod' may allow hackers to access your PC.

Now, before it goes to you, here's what you need to do to stop them...

Update your cyber engine

As explained by Uber Gizmo, Cyberpunk 2077 players can secure and protect their PC by updating their cyber engines.

By doing so, the issue and threat from the game mods could be solved immediately.

Over on Github, you'll find more information about cyber engines and how to update yours.

This method could be done by all players of the game in the world easily, but sadly many of them may not even know about the threat right now.

Cyberpunk 2077 game devs reaction

Even though there is a proven way to protect and secure your PC, still, there must be some action by the game developers, CD Projekt, in order to close this issue.

The latest game update 1.11 somehow did not address the issue circulating around. Players must wait for the next game update to guarantee a much more secured and safer gaming environment in Cyberpunk 2077.

The presence of game mods is becoming a common thing for video games nowadays. But as the saying goes, sometimes, less is more.
