Eager fans of Call of Duty will no doubt have been desperate to get their hands on Vanguard, to see what it's like. Unfortunately for some of these players, their experience has been akin to that of a man trying to open a particularly difficult jar of pickles. Troublesome. One of the reasons for this non-pickle-related, ahem, pickle, is thanks to Vanguard Error Code Vivacious. If this is you, then consider us the fork that pierces the lid of that irksome pickle jar. How To Fix Call Of Duty: Vanguard Error Code Vivacious
According to Activision, there are two occasions where the vivacious error may appear. The first is during the installation of the game. If this is when you are being impacted, quit the install and try again.
If, on the other hand, you are receiving this error while you are trying to perform a game update on your PlayStation, then the recommendation is to follow these steps:
- Reboot your PC or console. We'd recommend doing a full shutdown and clearing the cache on your console.
- Highlight Call of Duty: Vanguard on the homescreen.
- Press the Options button.
- Select Check for updates.
This will restart the update, and hopefully, this time there won't be any vivacious errors. If this is unsuccessful, then it's probably a good time to contact Activision for additional support.
If you are getting the vivacious error at other times, as some players have reported, what then? There is no official fix other than what we've already highlighted, so it's a case of going back to the tried-and-trusted general troubleshooting methods:
- Check the server status of Vanguard, in case there is an issue.
- Make sure your internet connection is working properly. Switch to a wired connection for greater stability, if you are on WiFi.
- Restart your PC or console and relaunch the game.
- Check for any pending updates.

What Is The Vivacious Error?
As we said earlier, the vivacious error tends to appear during the installation process, or while you are performing an update on the game. The reasons why are hazy, to say the least. The best guess is that it's caused by an issue with communication between your platform and the game's servers. But Activision themselves suggest that this error is prevalent on PC and PlayStation. They also acknowledge that this is a known issue. This means that they are either in the process of investigating the error or have it scheduled to be fixed.
With this being the case, it's worth keeping an eye out for any pending updates and making sure you download them when they become available. Of course, if you are only getting the error during installation, then hopefully, a reinstallation will suffice, and you can go merrily on your way. It will be slightly more complicated if you need an update to stop the updates from crashing. In this instance, uninstalling and reinstalling Vanguard may be the way to go, if you're really struggling.
