How to fix the 'aiming sideways after killstreak' glitch

Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a hard and fast fix to this aim glitch. The most obvious thing to do is just wait for your avatar to get killed - they should return to normal when you respawn.

Beyond that, the only thing we can really recommend is restarting your game and/or your gaming device of choice. And if that doesn't work, you can even uninstall and reinstall the software - if you want to 'go nuclear', that is.

Going forward, we'll just hope that Infinity Ward and Activision are working on a patch to stop this problem for good. We'll let you know if that happens.
