If you’re in the market for a new headset to give your gaming experience a boost, the likelihood is Turtle Beach will already be on your radar. The California-based company has been crafting headsets since 2005, and has since become a powerhouse in the field.

Now, Turtle Beach’s bestselling Stealth series is getting an upgrade, just in time for the release of the next-gen consoles later this year.

The ‘Gen 2’ versions of the wireless Stealth 600 and the premium Stealth 700 are on the way. They are both serious contenders for PS4 and Xbox One gamers looking for a headset upgrade, as well as those PS5 and Xbox Series X early adopters who want to experience next-gen sound to its fullest.

So, here’s everything you need to know about the second-generation Turtle Beach Stealth gaming headsets.

Turtle Beach Stealth Gen 2 specs

Both the Stealth 600 and Stealth 700 headsets incorporate precision-tuned 50mm speakers for a “deeply immersive, undistorted audio experience”. The speakers on the 700 model also feature ’Nanoclear’ technology, for even richer sound quality.

Both models include a rechargeable battery and feature a larger, more sensitive omni-directional microphone for refined chat clarity. Handily, the mic automatically mutes when you flip it back up into the headset.

In terms of ear comfort, the Stealth 600 comes with foam ear cushions covered in fabric. The Stealth 700, meanwhile, features cooling gel-infused memory foam cushions covered in synthetic leather, for a more comfortable and more upmarket feel.

Turtle Beach Stealth Gen 2 features

Both headset models feature wireless technology. The Xbox versions can automatically connect to your console thanks to integrated Xbox Wireless technology. The Playstation versions include a USB dongle transmitter, which you’ll need to plug into your console to connect. This means that the PS-compatible models are also compatible with the Nintendo Switch, too.

Where the Stealth 700 stands apart from the 600 is the inclusion of Bluetooth capability, meaning you can connect the headset to other devices – handy for listening to music or taking calls. You can also control and customise the headset via the Turtle Beach Audio Hub app.

The PlayStation and Xbox-versions of the Stealth 600 headsets will be available in both black and white variants, meaning you can match them to whatever console you have. The Stealth 700 models will only be available in black. The Stealth 600’s battery offers up to 15 hours of use from a charge; the 700’s enhanced battery offers up to 20 hours.
