What's the Difference Between Robot and AI?
First of all, we should define what AI and robots are.
Simply, Artificial Intelligence is the branch of computer science that focuses on creating intelligent machines that can think and act like humans. Digital assistants like Apple’s Siri, Google Now, Amazon’s Alexa, and Microsoft’s Cortana are examples of AI.
Whereas, robots are machines that are designed and programmed to perform a specific task, such as moving, lifting, grasping, etc. Household robots like Tesla Bot and Engineered Arts' Ameca are some examples. There are even medical robots that can perform surgeries without human assistance.
The main difference between a robot and an AI is that a robot is a hardware or a machine, whereas AI is a software that learns and self-improves.
Robots are devices that are powered by electric motors, which in turn are powered by electricity. The motors and other parts are designed to do the work that the robot needs to perform.
AI, on the other hand, is a software system that uses a set of rules to solve a specific problem. It does not have a physical form but is only an algorithm.

Does AI Mean Robot?
Technically, not.
As we said earlier, AI is not the same as a robot. However, people often confuse the two, which is why they think that AI means robot.
To be precise, AI is a collection of technologies, which includes computer vision, speech recognition, natural language processing, machine learning, etc. All these technologies are used to create intelligent machines that can think and act like humans.
But, AI is not the same as a robot. However, a sensible question would be: Do robots have AI?
Not every bot has AI. Most robots today have sensors and a computer to control them. That said, a number of robots do have AI and they are called Artificially Intelligent Robots. Hanson Robotics' most advanced humanoid robot, Sophia, is a bot with Artificial Intelligence.
