Warzone Error Code 38 is another in a very long list of errors that afflict the CoD battle royale game. Errors are, unfortunately, almost inevitable in online games. Even more so in games that regularly release new content, and the large software updates necessary to support them. With the level of popularity that Warzone enjoys, errors often impact large numbers of players, and Error Code 38 is no exception.
But, like a squadmate dragging you back into a foxhole, we're here to keep you safe, and tell you how you can overcome Error Code 38, and get back to playing Call of Duty. Let battle commence.
How to fix Error Code 38 in Call of Duty: Warzone Season 5
At the time of writing, Error Code 38 is not listed as a'known issue' on the Activision Support pages. However, whereas many errors crop up after an update, Error 38 seems to strike at random.
The best advice to try to fix it is as follows:
- Restart your device, and relaunch the game
- Make sure your game and your hardware are fully updated
- Consider restarting your router
- If you are on WiFi, try using a wired connection to improve stability
If nothing seems to be working, then it's probably about time to report this to Activison. You can do this by using the Warzone bug report form. While they may not be able to provide an immediate solution, it may prompt them to investigate further. And who knows, maybe they can identify and resolve any underlying issues.
Do we know anything else about what the underlying cause of Error Code 38 might be? We'll answer that question next.
What is Error Code 38?
When Error Code 38 strikes, it tends to happen when players are trying to join a game, or launch one. It is known to happen on both Xbox and PlayStation. There isn't a definitive explanation as to what this error actually is, and why it happens.
As we mentioned earlier, this error is not what would be described as known issue. But based on the solutions which seem to be most effective, and the fact that it doesn't seem to be correlated with updates, it does seem to point towards hardware issues at the user's end. Hopefully though, by trying the solutions we outlined above, you'll be able to get past Error Code 38.
