What is Conquest mode in Warhammer Realms of Ruin?
If you've played the Age of Empires games, Conquest mode will feel familiar. In essence, Conquest is all about overcoming your enemies through several battles, eventually facing a grand final boss fight.
In each battle, players and AI fight for control of three victory points. As they capture victory points, the enemy's victory meter will drain; getting their meter to 0 is the objective of most matches, and they'll try to do the same to you.
Players choose the faction they control in each game of Conquest, customising their loadout and palette. Battles have unique maps, rewards, and conditions; these can range from increased damage to all units getting a speed boost and more.
Further, no two playthroughs are alike thanks to procedural map generation and randomised challenges. Conquest mode is singleplayer only, but fun runs can be shared with friends via a seed number.
A competitive element also exists to keep keep things interesting. A life system can keep a run going even after losing a battle, but choosing between extra lives and a score multiplier will have players weighing up risks and rewards. All in all, Conquest mode is an infinitely replayable mode that's a great alternative to PvP.
