All game modes in Warhammer Realms of Ruin
The game may appear to only support four modes, but there's far more waiting beneath the surface. Below, we've given a breakdown of each mode and its sub-modes so you're ready to dive into battle.
Singleplayer modes are enjoyed solo. The campaign provides eighteen chapters of carnage against AI, where you'll constantly be changing factions and learning about their units. AI skirmish is effectively a 'quick play' option where you'll go up against an AI opponent for a standalone duel.
Multiplayer will let you play with a friend or take on a stranger. Casual 1v1 and Casual 2v2 are unranked battles against other players online, with crossplay support. Ranked 1v1, meanwhile, will see players climbing ranks to prove their mastery. Custom creation and Custom browser exist to support custom games, letting you play a unique match with friends or against an AI that has been customised to your liking.
Conquest is a randomised campaign. Players choose one faction and must complete several combat challenges, eventually facing the Overlord. There are several trophies tied to his mode making it a great one to replay.
Create lets players express their creativity in a variety of ways. The Map Editor, for example, provides the level editing tools that made the campaign. Army Livery lets players customise their armies' colours with paints from Games Workshop's collection. Scene editor is a photo mode user's dream, letting players place and pose characters to share with the community.
That's everything we can tell you about the game modes currently on offer in Realms of Ruin. We also have guides to changing the game's difficulty, unlocking new unit tiers, and understanding the game's many status effects.
