Tom Holland is getting a second Spider-Man trilogy, says Sony's Amy Pascal

There have been rumblings for weeks about Spider-Man actor Tom Holland retiring  from his iconic Marvel movie role. On the other hand, there have also been rumours of the actor staring in a second Spidey trilogy in the MCU. Which one is true?

Well, according to Sony's webhead producer Amy Pascal, Holland is returning for a second Spidey trilogy. However, it would seem like Marvel Studios wasn’t made entirely aware of Pascal's ambitious plans.

Amy Pascal confirms Tom Holland will have new Spider-Man trilogy

In an interview for Fandango, Pascal explained that the relationship between Marvel and Sony isn't ending with No Way Home. Instead, Sony plans to make additional movies inside the MCU. These projects range from solo Spidey films to Venom, Morbius and Kraven the Hunter.

However, most importantly, Pascal spilled the beans on the next steps for Tom Holland's Spider-Man. While many thought Marvel would pivot to a new Spidey, like Miles Morales, Pascal confirms that Holland is here to stay.

She said:

"This is not the last movie that we are going to make with Marvel – [this is not] the last Spider-Man movie. We are getting ready to make the next Spider-Man movie with Tom Holland and Marvel, it just isn't part of... we're thinking of this as three films, and now we're going to go onto the next three. This is not the last of our MCU movies. Marvel and Sony are going to keep going together as partners."

Marvel didn't know about this

Despite Pascal's claims that plans for the next Spider-Man trilogy are already in motion, it appears that Marvel isn't too sure. Reported by The Hollywood Reporter, apparently there are no plans to continue Holland's tenure as the webhead.

The outlet claims that even “though the studio has a strong relationship with Holland and Feige and hopes to continue their collaboration, there are no official plans for a trilogy at this phase."

We do know that there are definitely plans for at least one more Spider-Man movie. Sony has been very transparent about its plans to create a crossover movie with Spider-Man and Venom. These plans appear to be going full steam ahead, especially as the ending of Venom 2 saw the character enter the MCU.
