Ubisoft’s highly secretive open-world Star Wars game has been officially revealed as Star Wars: Outlaws, a new game that might be like GTA V in space.
Developed by Ubisoft Massive, the team behind The Division, Star Wars: Outlaws is a sprawling heist adventure across the galaxy far, far away. A new trailer for the upcoming video game has given us a bold new look at the title.
Set between the events of A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back, Star Wars: Outlaws follows intergalactic thief Kay Vess. Alongside her pet Nyx, Kay is attempting to steal enough to buy her freedom from a crime syndicate.
While details are still vague on the new sci-fi game, Outlaws’ story revolves around a massive heist. Ubisoft has revealed that the game will put you in the middle of “one of the biggest heists the Outer Rim has ever seen”.
While gameplay is still yet to be revealed, the game does sound rather deep. According to the game’s description, you’ll be able to “fight, steal, and outwit your way through the galaxy’s crime syndicates as you join the galaxy’s most wanted.”
Ubisoft’s open world Star Wars game has been in development for a number of years alongside its upcoming Avatar video game. The title is part of a huge initiative to create more AAA licensed games like the studio used to develop.
However, there is a number of worries surrounding Ubisoft’s new game. According to numerous reports, the game is being pushed out earlier than developers wanted in order to meet 2024 market demands, even if content needs to be cut.
Nevertheless, Star Wars: Outlaws has certainly impressed fans of the series, even as whiny social media users moan about the game having a female protagonist.
Coming after the brilliant Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Ubisoft does have an incredibly high bar to clear. After all, Jedi: Survivor does have Turgle, and Outlaws seemingly does not. Now, let’s see what little freak Ubisoft stuffs into its Star Wars game.
