Star Wars Jedi: Survivor takes place in the same timeline as Obi-Wan Kenobi so an effort was made to hide this fact from any potential hacks. The developers went to great and funny lengths to make sure fans wouldn’t guess this, so now it’s fairly amusing to see all this effort.
Pete Stewart, the Senior Writer for Jedi: Survivor, revealed that Obi-Wan Kenobi’s Hidden Path group was added to the game as a surprise connection to the show. But because they wanted to keep this reference a secret, Stewart revealed that multiple recordings called them “Muni Metro” instead.
For those unaware, the Muni Metro is an LRT system in San Francisco, so knowing that the Star Wars Jedi: Survivor cast said this numerous times is funny. Hilariously, Stewart is convinced that there must be some reference of it in the game, due to the amount of times it was said and all of the secrecy.
"I was honestly terrified until about a week before release that we were going to ship with the phrase' Muni Metro' in the game somewhere," Stewart said on Twitter.
Knowing about all of this effort is interesting since Obi-Wan Kenobi didn’t exactly set the world on fire when it came out on Disney+. Still, The Secret Path was a neat addition to the Star Wars mythos, as it fits perfectly with The Resistance while not making them overly important.
This is a cute little factoid in a fairly successful game, as Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has managed to sell and review well. Granted, the PC version of this acclaimed sequel is still a mess, but those with next-gen consoles should have a good experience. Patches are on the way to make the PC version better, so here’s hoping more of them come soon.
