The Star Wars fandom has a horrid history of abuse. From the bullying of Jake Lloyd and Ahmed Best during the prequels to Daisy Ridley and Kelly Marie Tran during the sequels, there’s always been a percentage of the fandom obsessed with bullying actors.
For some reason, toxic fans can’t seem to separate an actor from a character they dislike. After decades of negativity from fans, it would appear that even Lucasfilm is fed up of it.
Lucasfilm fights back against Toxic Fans
During Star Wars Celebration, Lucasfilm created a beautiful event filled to the brim with actors from the franchise’s long past. Actors from Ian McDiarmid to Daniel Logan (young Boba Fett) were present.
For one panel at the massive event, Rose Tico actress Kelly Marie Tran was joined by Billy Lourde to discuss their history with the franchise. Of course, just the mere presence of Tran brought the seething haters out of the damp woodwork.
In response to an announcement tweet from the official Star Wars Twitter account, a number of Twitter users responded negatively. One user commented: “Respectfully no one likes either of them.”
Within a matter of minutes, the Star Wars Twitter account replied, putting the fan back in their place with just three words. The account replied: “Respectfully, L + ratio.”
Star Wars’ account quickly gained over 30,000 likes to the troll, easily winning the faux argument. Additionally, everyone replying to the original troll made sure to tell them that they were a baby that needs to move on.

Will Kelly Marie Tran come back to Star Wars?
The appearance of Kelly Marie Tran at Star Wars Celebration led many to assume that she would be announcing her return to the franchise. Over the past year, there have been rumours of the actress returning for a Rose Tico centric show.
Despite her character being sidelined in The Rise of Skywalker — to be fair, it was a movie that consisted entirely of retcons and sidelining — the actress has kept a strong working relationship with Disney. For example, Tran was the lead of Raya and the Last Dragon.
After the extreme abuse she received after The Last Jedi, it would be fair to assume that Tran would be hesitant to return to the Star Wars franchise. However, during Star Wars Celebration, the actress’ popularity was proven.
According to fans who were at the event, the line for Tran was staggering. Distanced from the army of online trolls and social media echo chambers, the love for Tran is there.
