Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is looking like a bigger sequel, with more villains to battle and more of New York to explore. In addition to more content, there are also more accessibility options for players to take part in, including much easier web-swinging.
James Stevenson of Insomniac Games confirmed that there are 10 levels of web-swinging assistance in the sequel. Players will start at a similar level to the first game, so those who enjoyed the swinging in Marvel’s Spider-Man should be fine.
Depending on the level, players can make the web swinging easier or harder for themselves, which should appeal to different sections of gamers. While most fans enjoyed how smooth the web swinging was in the first game, there are those who might want more of a challenge.
Traversal is going to be huge in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, as players will be able to web swing and use their web wings to glide around. Based on what we’ve seen in the trailers, these mechanics look exhilarating and should make the game more fun. At the least, those who find swinging difficult will be able to make things easier (or harder) for themselves.
Improved traversal is only a small part of what makes the sequel stand out, as Insomniac has made a ton of improvements. Boss fights are much more interesting now, with health bars now shown so players can see how much damage they’re dealing. Players will also be able to get 65 costumes for the Spider-Men, with different colors for each costume.
